Baby Names...

We are still trying to decide on a name. We will probably end up doing what we did with Halle, and just have a top 2 or 3 and decide for sure once the baby is born.
We decided to name our first daughter Halle Rae, Halle to continue the tradition of "H" names in my family, and Rae after Grandpa Ray, my middle name Rachel and her aunt Rachel.
So for baby #2, we want to have something short and simple, like Halle. We want her middle name to be Layne, after Grandpa Lane. And uncle Clint's middle name is also Lane.
We don't want anything that sounds too made-up, or too common. If it fits in with our names, that is a bonus.
Here are some on our list:

Ella (short and simple like Halle) ***My favorite so far
Ellah (Halle backwards!)
Elle or Ellie (maybe too close to Halle)
Jaida (J like Jason)
Jaylie (Jason + Hartley)
Emme or Emi (maybe too close to my sister Emma)
Henna (continuing H's)
Hanna (continuing H's)
Eva or Evie (yeah we are kinda leaning towards E's...)

UPDATE:
Some of Jason's favorites:
Evelyn
Lacey

So... let us know which ones you like. :) We are open to suggestions for others too.

My vote is Ellah or Jaylie. They are all way cute names-and I'm sure you didn't want my opinion, so I'm sorry I gave it to you anyway:)

Oh, they are all cute and really neat names. I have to think on it and I will let you know "my" top 2 or 3 favs. I think Ellah is cool since it's Halle backward. How clever!

So, I have called you a few times and even left you a message. It's not like you are busy or getting ready for anything (hint hint). j/k

I know you're getting ready for baby, but we need to talk. Call me whenever you can. Or you're gonna just see it on my blog. BUT- if you call me before going to look on my blog, I wanted to tell you something...
:-)

I like Ellah! What a cute idea! At least all your names have meaning.... mine that I haved picked out are just random.

Also, like Jaylie. I like it because it is unique. Never heard it before.

When can we come play?? You are running out of time!

My vote is for Jaida. Then Jaylee. If you name her Ellah, we're going to have to call her Ellah Ear :)jk I love how all your names have meanings!

My vote would be for Eva. I think that it has that short and simple thing you are looking for plus it sounds so good with the middle name and the meaning is beautiful.
My second choice would be Ella and my third would be Jaylie.

Picking out the baby names was always my favorite part of pregnancy. Good luck!

what about Kalaya or my fav if we ever have a girl Anya... BUT I do like Ellah!!

I also like Ella! Very cute. My suggestion is to not pick a first name that's only 1 syllable since the middle name is onlye 1 syllable. To me, two 1-syllable names just sound funny together.

My vote is Jaylie, I think it sounds great with Layne... you could even spell it Jayley so its got a bit of Jason and Hartley, although my absolute favorite way to spell names with an eee sound is with 2 EE's --maybe I'm biased?!!
